(They are more like to retain language that they have contributed rather than that the teacher provides)

the poverty trap

environmental issues

racism

sexism

violence

unemployment

 

These titles are displayed in the target language in columns on OHP. (you may not want to use all of them in one go).

The pupils work in pairs and write their own verses using their daily routine  language and ‘problem” language you have brainstormed as well as the lyrics you have provided.
